Millinery and Hat Design
Bobbi Heath — Chic Chapeau
Chic Chapeau is the label of milliner and hat designer, Bobbi Heath. Bobbi uses her millinery skills to create headwear dreams. It could be a show-stopping “icing on the cake” creation for a day at Ascot, an elegant hat for the mother of the bride or groom, a fascinator to grace a prom night or a simple felt or straw hat, to wear everyday on the high street.
Hat Design and Millinery Experience
In her studio in the Worcestershire countryside, just a few miles from Worcester city centre, Bobbiʼs clients will be able able to enjoy the experience of having a design created especially for them, therefore making it unique.
Bobbi’s expertise is that a hat or headpiece will always suit the wearer and the event. The client will be able to put on the final creation at the beginning of the occasion and be oblivious to its presence (except, of course, when the compliments are received) until the end of the day.
Clients are asked to bring with them, their outfit, accessories and any pictorial inspiration they may have. Bobbi also has various shapes and samples of hats to try on, to get the feeling of shape and proportion. It is so important to make sure the style of hat or headwear compliments the wearer.
The hat design process then begins!
Traditional and Modern Hats
Bobbi works with all the traditional millinery materials, sinamay, felt, straw, velvet, silk to name but a few, but she also enjoys the challenge of new materials, such as leather, plastic, shells, metals and more. Bobbi is always “up for a challenge” when creating.
She also loves designing hats for photographic shoots, fashion shows, theatre and festivals.
Prices range from £150 upwards.
Why Chic Chapeau?
Because her hats are all unique, wearable, tailored, chic creations with a modern twist.
Hat design that is suitable for weddings, race days, parties, proms and even funerals. Headpieces, hatinators and crowns and tiaras for the bride are also in Bobbi’s repertoire, as are corsages and bouquets that will last forever and can incorporate memorabilia from loved ones.
In fact anything that can make that special occasion more special!
She also makes hats for gentlemen. Trilbys, stetsons, panamas and even bicorns and tricorns.
Bobbiʼs passion for hats began at the age of thirteen when she made a tartan jockey cap, cut to the pattern of her brothers school cap. The only place she could wear it was going to church. How else could a young, potential milliner, be noticed. Now a great number of years later she is designing and making hats for discerning clients.
Bobbi holds City and Guilds accreditation, level 2, 3 and diploma. She has worked for Stephen Jones and Noel Stewart.
